Ignite presentation - straight outta compton

The reason I'd pick this film is because there are lots of debates that could be mentioned within the film. The film is set in 1980s, 1990s in South Central La (America). There are a lot of stereotypes within the film that can be explored some of which are positive and some are negative. The first one is police brutality on black African Americans, this scene is seen when the group of N.W.A come outside of the studio and the police stop and search them. This is an example of police brutality as one of the males are forced back down onto the floor by the police and racism towards blacks. There is also people who are against the lyrics that rap songs have and the whole idea of rap songs vs those who attend the concerts of N.W.A and listen to their music. This leads to another debate between society and the police as the lyrics of the music they produce have an impact on people's mindset and they go and fight back against the police. There are also scenes where women are treated inferior to men as the male is superior and gains his power through the sexual exploitation of the female throughout the film, this is a scene in the hotel when the group of males were receiving sexual favours of the females. Later on in this scene there is also black on black crime and crime with weapons as the group N.W.A go out of the hotel room holding guns towards the two black males who were outside the hotel room. We can also see those who are educated and those who aren't and instead are part of a gang this is the starting scene of the film as the school bus is pulled over by one of the gang members who is a blood. The film has lots of oppositions which is why it is a good film to pick not only this but the topics within the film are also detailed and have been problems within society for a large amount of years.

Approved.
